Your privacy and its protection are important to us. We’ve developed this notice to describe how we collect, use and disclose personal information and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used within our sites and services.

Hart College of Cardiac Sonography and Health Care Inc. is an Ontario accredited private career college with its campus in the Greater Toronto Area. We adhere to applicable privacy laws, including the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

Collection of Personal Information

Hart College collects personal information of students, alumni and other parties, including but not limited to faculty, staff and private citizens as part of the services we provide. Personal information collected by Hart includes certain identifying information, including, but not limited to, names, addresses, dates of birth and certain financial information in order to participate in the activities and offerings within. 

We may use the information you provide about yourself to fulfill your requests for our products, programs, and services, to respond to your inquiries about our offerings, and to offer you other products, programs, or services that we believe may be of interest to you. We sometimes use this information to communicate with you, such as to notify you when we make changes to our services, to fulfill a request by you, or to contact you about your account with us. Most of our communications provide an “opt-out” feature.

We may also use your information to update internal systems or transfer your data to another internal system such as an accounting system or curriculum management system. This allows for seamless delivery of services and resources to you across Hart College.

Consent

By using our website, you consent to the collection and use of your information by Hart College.

Hart College will use reasonable efforts to ensure that an individual is advised of the identified purposes for which personal information will be used or disclosed. Purposes will be stated in a manner that can be reasonably understood by the individual. Manner of Collection of Personal Information

Hart College collects personal information either directly, indirectly or via website technology.

We collect personal information when individuals communicate with us, apply directly to us or fill out our forms. We also create records of our dealings with individuals that include personal information. For example, we create and maintain a student record for every Hart student.

Hart College may also collect personal information from other relevant sources including, without limitation, secondary schools, colleges, universities and other institutions previously attended, including governing bodies, third-party services and test score providers where the items collected form a part of the application or admission process to a college program.

Use of Personal Information

Personal information is used for academic, administrative, employment-related, financial, statistical and other appropriate purposes of Hart College.

Student information collected by Hart College may be used, among other things, to admit, register and graduate students, record academic achievement, to provide access to information technology systems and to operate academic, financial, recreational, alumni and other Hart programs.

The majority of personal information processing and storage happens in Canada, however, if Hart has a contract with a third party service provider that is based in another country, hart may be required to transfer personal data to that third party’s country or international organization. In transferring personal data, Hart will employ suitable safeguards to protect the privacy and security of the personal information so that it is only used in a manner consistent with the individual’s relationship with Hart and this Notice.

Disclosure of Personal Information

Hart College does not sell, rent, give away, trade or loan any identifiable information regarding its members to any third party other than agents and contractors of Hart College.

Agents and contractors of Hart College who have access to personally identifiable information are required to protect this information in a manner that is consistent with this privacy policy by, for example, not using the information for any purpose other than to carry out the services they are performing for Hart College.

Hart College may release personal information when we believe, in good faith, that such release is reasonably necessary to (i.) comply with law, (ii.) enforce or apply the terms of any of our user agreements, or (iii.) protect the rights, property, or safety of Hart College, our users, or others.

Access and Correction

Individuals have the right to ask for their own personal information and to request a correction of records containing their own personal information. To protect your privacy and security, we will take reasonable steps to help verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.

Storage and Retention of Personal Information

Hart College takes reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss or theft as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification, regardless of the format in which the information is held, using appropriate administrative and security safeguards. When working with service providers who handle personal information on its behalf, Hart takes reasonable steps to choose service providers that are capable of protecting personal information as per our security and privacy standards.

Although we take appropriate measures to safeguard against unauthorized disclosures of information, we cannot assure you that personally identifiable information that we collect will never be disclosed in a manner that is inconsistent with this privacy policy. Unfortunately, despite all our efforts, there is always a risk that third parties may unlawfully intercept transmissions. This reality is true of all Internet use. As a result, we cannot ensure the security of any information you transmit, and you transmit all information at your own risk.

Website Privacy

Hart College respects your online privacy. Personal information is collected and used online in certain circumstances. For instance, we collect and use information you submit while using the online chat “help form” in order to appropriately respond to your inquiries.

Cookies

We use “cookies” on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor’s hard drive to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site.
